I dont’ know about you, but I have so many images in my files that I return to time and time again for inspiration. This is one of them.
I absolutely love Bougainvillea – it reminds me of some of my most favorite places in the world – so for me, this photo captures pure glee. If I could recreate this moment in my daily life somehow, I’d do it. So when I saw this living room in the latest issue of Lonny, I thought… man. This could be close!
The way the light streams through that Designer’s Guild fabric gives me that same feeling as that bougainvillea bliss. Sunshine and warm pink tones casting themselves throughout the room, amplified by the sofa’s berry hue. It’s so fantastic.
If you really wanted it to feel even more like being tucked into your own garden, I’d add some swap out some elements to make it a little less modern, and perhaps play with the paint a bit. The white gives it a nice fresh feel, but if you went darker, it could be nice and moody. I’d probably opt for some more lush plants just for good measure.
